Harbin Ice Lantern Fair

Harbin Ice Lantern Fair is one of the four major theme parks of the Harbin Ice Festival. It was founded in 1963 and is held in Zhaolin Park every winter (usually from late December to late February). It covers an area of more than 60,000 square meters, uses about 2,000 cubic meters of ice, and has over 1,500 ice carving works. Harbin Ice Lantern Fair is the birthplace of Chinese ice lantern art, and is the world's oldest and largest large-scale outdoor ice lantern art exhibition. It is listed as one of the 37 "absolutely, strangely, beautifully, and wonderfully" tourist attractions in China, and has won several Guinness World Records.

The ice for making the ice sculptures in Harbin Ice Lantern Fair is collected from the Songhua River. Artists use the natural ice to create and sculpt various artistic works, including castles, various buildings, figures, animals, and so on. In the evening, with the aid of modern technology and lights, the whole park looks like an ice fairyland. The park has made innovations in its ice lantern works, with new changes every year. It is known as "a fairy tale that never repeats".

During the Harbin Ice Lantern Fair, international and domestic ice sculpture competitions, ice & snow calligraphy and painting exhibitions, and ice engraving creation competitions are also held in the park. An ice sculpture show area is also set up, where tourists can make ice lanterns themselves. In addition, tourists can also participate in some interesting activities such as ice slides, ice bumper cars, ice bicycles, ice-tube and even participate in fun games such as guessing lantern riddles. You can enjoy a special experience that the other theme parks cannot offer.
